Important! If your accountant is working on your file, wait until you get the file back before you upgrade.

If you’ve sent your data to your accountant, wait to upgrade to R9 until after you’ve restored your file with your accountant’s changes using your current copy of QuickBooks. Once the file is restored, choose QuickBooks > Check for Updates to install R9 and upgrade your company file.

Before you upgrade your company file – as always – make a backup, then verify that your data is clean both before and after the upgrade.  Just a little housekeeping that can make life easier down the road.

Multi-Users – upgrade the server first, then the clients.

Here’s a list of the changes and bug fixes included in this update:

Client

  • Duplicate transactions will no longer be created when editing an unrecorded check transaction in the account register.
  • All items are now selected when creating a Bill from a Purchase Order. (instead of just the first line – a bug that was introduced with R7.)
  • Sales Receipts will now show the Item Description only once if “Print selected time and costs as one invoice item” is checked in Time/Costs window.
  • Long email addresses are retained when converting a file from Windows to Mac.

  • Total Miles are now displayed when printing detail reports.
  • A Collection View has been added when opening a template. All templates can be previewed prior to selection.  (nice – but when are they going to allow you to inactivate templates)
